I sought to capture the impression left by imprisoning and releasing energy. While dancing, the performer followed the dancer's footprints adding oil and water to the floured surface. The 'commemorative surface' has added behavior and requirements. The dancer who became a painter, became a sculptor. The movement that transformed energy created matter. Anything that wasn't fixed to the paper by energy and action at the end was washed off. A painting remains.
