Edge of the Present
Solo exhibiton
In the center of the exhibition I presented a sculpture I created from human DNA: I asked 150 people to spit into a test tube, and from the saliva I extracted their DNA from which I built a DNA community sculpture. The intimate collaborations became the building blocks of a sculpture that contains a unique memory of each who participated. During the exhibition, participants are invited to spit on a cyanotype drawing (unfixed) on the wall, and become a piece of the next community sculpture I will curate. At the exhibition I also present a participation contract for visitors to sign. Another work includes a drinking and refreshment stand with cyanide tea bags - to observe the aesthetics of the possibility of dying.
